Wordfeud Cheat Sheet
Wordfeud is a clean, no-frills multiplayer word game with an optional random board mode that keeps every game fresh. This cheat sheet covers strategy for both standard and random boards.
About Wordfeud
Wordfeud is a straightforward multiplayer word game known for its clean interface. It offers a "Random Board" option that shuffles bonus tile positions for a more unpredictable and replayable game.
Standard vs Random Board
Standard Board
Bonus squares are in fixed positions — the same as every game. You can memorise the board layout and plan your opening plays in advance to land on the best squares quickly.
Random Board
Bonus squares are shuffled at the start of each game. Scout the board layout immediately and adjust your opening play to reach the nearest Triple Word square first.
Key Tips
- Reach bonus tiles early. In both board types, claiming Triple Word squares in the first few turns gives you a significant scoring lead.
- Deny opponent Triple Words. If you can't use a Triple Word square yourself, play a word that blocks your opponent's easiest path to it.
- Use high-value tiles wisely. Save Q, Z, J, and X for turns where you can land them on a Triple Letter square to maximise their value.
- Keep the board open for yourself. Avoid playing words that create easy hooking spots near Triple Word squares that your opponent can exploit next turn.
Strategy Tip
When playing on a random board, prioritise reaching bonus tiles early. Plan your moves to block your opponent from accessing high-scoring Triple Word tiles — controlling these squares is often more impactful than the word score alone.
