Word Domination Cheat Sheet

Word Domination is a short, fast word game where every turn counts. With only 5 turns per game, this cheat sheet helps you score high and claim territory efficiently.

About Word Domination

Word Domination is a fast-paced multiplayer word game played on a 9×9 board. Each player starts with 7 letters and has a limited time to make their move. Games typically last only 5 turns, so every play must be high-scoring to win.

5-Turn Game Plan

  1. Turn 1 — Establish the centre. Playing through the centre star gives a Double Word bonus and positions you to branch in multiple directions on future turns.
  2. Turn 2 — Claim a bonus square. With a 9×9 board, premium squares are closer together. Reach a Triple Letter or Triple Word square while your opponent is still developing their position.
  3. Turn 3 — Play parallel if possible. A word parallel to an existing one creates multiple cross-words and can outscore a longer word played in isolation.
  4. Turn 4 — Use your highest-value letters. Save Q, Z, J, and X for turns 3–5 when bonus squares are accessible. Wasting them on turn 1 leaves points on the table.
  5. Turn 5 — Block and score. On the final turn, prioritise plays that simultaneously score high and deny your opponent any remaining bonus squares.

Booster Card Tips

Freeze Time

Gives you extra seconds to find a word. Use when you have a high-value rack but need more time to identify the best placement.

Double Score

Doubles your word score for one turn. Combine with a Triple Word square for a game-winning play.

Strategy Tip

Use Booster cards like "Freeze Time" to give yourself more time to find complex words. With only 5 turns, every move must be high-scoring — don't waste boosters on low-value turns.
