Word Chums Cheat Sheet
Word Chums is a 4-player word game with a board full of bonus squares. This cheat sheet covers how to use word filters and board strategy to outscore every opponent.
About Word Chums
Word Chums is a turn-based multiplayer word game that features a 15×15 board and supports up to 4 players simultaneously. It includes customisable avatars called "Chum Characters" and rewards high-scoring plays with in-game coins.
Using Word Finder Filters
Word Chums connects to standard Scrabble dictionaries. When using a word finder, these filter options help you locate board-specific plays:
Starts With
Use when a letter is already at the start of an open row or column. Enter that letter as the prefix and search for words that begin with it.
Contains
Use when a specific letter is fixed in the middle of a slot. Find all valid words that include that letter at a given position.
Ends With
Use when a letter is already at the end of an open row. Find all words your rack can spell that end on that letter.
Board Strategy
- Block bonus squares early. With up to 4 players, Triple Word squares get claimed fast. Reach them in the first 2–3 rounds or deny opponents access.
- Play parallel words. Placing a word parallel to an existing one often scores both the new word and multiple short cross-words at once.
- Keep a balanced rack. Aim for 2–3 vowels and 4–5 consonants at all times. Swap tiles only as a last resort when your rack is all vowels or all consonants.
Strategy Tip
Use the "Advanced Options" in word cheat tools to find words that connect to existing letters on the board using "Starts With," "Contains," or "Ends With" filters. This immediately narrows results to plays you can actually make on your current board position.
