Kryss Cheat Sheet
Kryss is a competitive multiplayer crossword game where incorrect placements cost you points. Use this cheat sheet to read the board accurately and place letters with confidence.
About Kryss
Kryss is a multiplayer crossword-style game where players compete to fill out a shared board. Each player is given 5 letters per turn and must place them correctly based on visual or text hints displayed on the board. Every incorrect placement costs 1 point, so accuracy is critical.
Scoring & Penalties
Correct Placement
Earn points for each correctly placed letter. Completing full words earns additional bonus points.
Incorrect Placement
Each wrong letter costs −1 point. Avoid guessing — only place a letter when you are certain of the answer.
Key Tips
- Read the hint fully before placing. Text hints often contain the exact category or definition — take an extra second to parse it before acting.
- Use crossing letters. Letters already placed on the board by you or opponents narrow down the correct answer considerably.
- Prioritise longer words. Longer words are worth more points and their crossing letters provide the most positional information.
- Skip when unsure. Passing a turn costs nothing — an incorrect letter costs −1. When in doubt, skip.
Strategy Tip
Pay close attention to the icons or text hints on the board. Since mistakes cost points (−1 per incorrect placement), only place letters when you are certain of the word. A skipped turn is always better than a wrong guess.
