Knotwords Cheat Sheet
Knotwords is a logic-based word puzzle that rewards careful letter placement. Use this cheat sheet to untangle grids faster and make better use of your limited hints.
About Knotwords
Knotwords is a logic-based word puzzle game, similar to Sudoku but with words. The grid is divided into sections, each containing a pool of letters that must be used to form valid words both horizontally and vertically. Every letter in each section must be placed exactly once.
How to Solve a Knotwords Grid
- Start with constrained sections. Look for sections with only 2–3 letters — there are fewer possible word combinations, making them easier to lock in first.
- Work intersections. Shared cells where a horizontal and vertical word overlap constrain both words simultaneously. Solving these first eliminates the most possibilities.
- Use process of elimination. If a letter can only go in one position within its section without breaking a crossing word, place it there.
- Enable instant feedback. Change "Word feedback" to "Correct" in Settings so you know immediately when a word is valid — no need to guess whether you have the right combination.
- Save hints for longer words. Use your limited hints on longer, multi-section words to break open the hardest parts of the grid first.
Strategy Tip
Change "Word feedback" to "Correct" in settings to know immediately when a word is right. Use your limited hints on longer words to break open difficult sections first — solving one long word across multiple sections often unlocks the rest of the grid.
