Wordle Hint Strategy Guide

What makes a good Wordle hint word?

A strong opening word has 5 unique letters (no repeats), includes at least 2 common vowels, and tests high-frequency consonants like S, T, R, N, L. Words like STARE, CRANE, and SLATE tick all these boxes.

How many letters should my hint reveal?

A perfect first guess reveals whether 5 different letters appear in the word. After one guess, you typically know 5 letters' status (green, yellow, or gray), which eliminates 75–90% of possible answers.

Should I always use the same starting word?

Using a consistent opener is the most reliable strategy. However, some advanced players alternate between a few top words (STARE + CLOUD, or CRANE + STOMP) to cover different letter combinations.

When should I use the full Wordle Helper?

Use it when you've used 3+ guesses and still have many possibilities, or when you're down to your last 2 guesses and can't afford to guess wrong. Enter your clues and let the solver find the best move.
